Been so busy . . .

I fully intended to regularly contribute to this blog, but anyway I'm here now. 

My Son is autistic/epileptic/non-verbal, can't read, write or sign. He has had such an awful time due to the lockdowns. No day centre, no carers, just stuck with me 24/7. Now he is having a terrible time adjusting to the new "normal". Not going to lie. Life for us both has been hellish. We're just getting some things in place to support him, so hopefully he will feel brighter soon.

The garden furniture did not go as planned. I took the common sense route and ordered furniture that is more robust. Not what I wanted, but at least this set will withstand my Son's autistic outbursts. I still haven't put it together as it is still a bit chilly out, even in the sunshine. Although I'm not a really hot weather lover, I still think 13°c is far too cold to eat in the garden. 

I also bought us a Tandoor. Yes. A Tandoor. I have been following a Facebook page since last year which is run by a man who built his own Tandoor ovens. Anyway, he started making them to sell . . .
My Son and I love Indian food and I am really looking forward to cooking in the Tandoor. Here is a link to his FB page if you're interested Tandoor Home Cooking

Today is the one year anniversary "gotcha day" for my two lovely cats Quinn(f) and Rocco(m).

Today is also our wonderful Queen's 95th Birthday. 
This photo is property of Hello Magazine. It is one of my favourite photos of Her Majesty. I think the colours of her outfit really suit her. The hat is stunning and the brooch is also one of my favourites. A beautiful smile too. For me, the perfect photo.

Hopefully my next blog post will not take so long to get around to.

Let's hear it for H&M My Son cannot go shopping. He can't cope with shops, people, the lighting (in some shops), all the noises . . . sensory overload. I have been buying his clothes from H&M for several years now, 25 to be precise. Even when he was a baby he wore H&M clothes. They're great quality, lots of colour choices and I can often find something a bit quirky. The customer service is always very good at our local High Street store too. Yesterday's haul is fab. I bought him some pastel coloured shorts and tops including the pale green t-shirt below 🔽 As he gradually wears his new threads, I'll try to get photos and post them here on my blog. Their T shirts always wash well and the sizing is good. My Son reallu suits light/pastel colours.  Do you have a go-to store for when you want/need to buy clothing for a boy/man? Welcome to what is a light-hearted blog about hobbies, passions, general observations and some odd song lyrics/poems thrown in here and there, a bit of travel stuff and  my two cats Rocco and Quinn. My main hobby is crocheting, but I generally try to have a go at anything I like the look of. I am about to dip into the world of dressmaking and hoping it will be a success as I'm not keen on shopping and can never seem to find something I totally like, and I end up compromising when I really don't want to.  Anyway. I have been crocheting a amigurumi greyhound. It is for a fundraiser for Greyhound Gap, which is a Greyhound rescue based in Staffordshire, UK. All the small stitches have made my hands and fingers ache, so I have taken a small break and tried my hand at origami this week.  I found a couple of simple tutorials on youtube and made a heart, a flower, and a crane.
