Not your ordinary candle ...

 Who hasn't been tempted by scented candles for sale in virtually every shop on Earth? I am a bit of a candle addict. A few years back, I was very fortunate to stay with friends in France and we visited a lovely handcrafted candle shop. I bought a selection of candles and only use them when I get some "me time" at home. Today I chose Myrtille - blueberry. The scent has filled the house so nicely and it isn't at all overwhelming or false smelling. Sounds odd? False smelling? Until you have been wrapped up in the beautiful aroma of one of these candles, you haven't smelt a natural smelling candle. 

Les Bougies de Charroux is the brand. Their pretty shop in Charroux is the one we visited. If you get an opportunity to visit one of their eleven shops in France, or two shops in Belgium, do it. Even if you just sniff by the door! No, seriously, make sure you treat yourself to one of their exquisite candles. From then on, you will then be hooked!

Maximum recommended burn time is no longer than three hours. You don't need any more than that. This makes them great value for money.

Let's hear it for H&M My Son cannot go shopping. He can't cope with shops, people, the lighting (in some shops), all the noises . . . sensory overload. I have been buying his clothes from H&M for several years now, 25 to be precise. Even when he was a baby he wore H&M clothes. They're great quality, lots of colour choices and I can often find something a bit quirky. The customer service is always very good at our local High Street store too. Yesterday's haul is fab. I bought him some pastel coloured shorts and tops including the pale green t-shirt below 🔽 As he gradually wears his new threads, I'll try to get photos and post them here on my blog. Their T shirts always wash well and the sizing is good. My Son reallu suits light/pastel colours.  Do you have a go-to store for when you want/need to buy clothing for a boy/man? Welcome to what is a light-hearted blog about hobbies, passions, general observations and some odd song lyrics/poems thrown in here and there, a bit of travel stuff and  my two cats Rocco and Quinn. My main hobby is crocheting, but I generally try to have a go at anything I like the look of. I have been crocheting a amigurumi greyhound. It is for a fundraiser for Greyhound Gap, which is a Greyhound rescue based in Staffordshire, UK. All the small stitches have made my hands and fingers ache, so I have taken a small break and tried my hand at origami this week.  I found a couple of simple tutorials on youtube and made a heart, a flower, and a crane. Been so busy . . .

I fully intended to regularly contribute to this blog, but  anyway I'm here now.  My Son is autistic/epileptic/non-verbal, can't read, write or sign. He has had such an awful time due to the lockdowns. No day centre, no carers, just stuck with me 24/7. Now he is having a terrible time adjusting to the new "normal". Not going to lie. Life for us both has been hellish. We're just getting some things in place to support him, so hopefully he will feel brighter soon. The garden furniture did not go as planned. I took the common sense route and ordered furniture that is more robust. Not what I wanted, but at least this set will withstand my Son's autistic outbursts. I still haven't put it together as it is still a bit chilly out, even in the sunshine. Although I'm not a really hot weather lover, I still think 13°c is far too cold to eat in the garden.  I also bought us a Tandoor. Yes. A Tandoor.
